Job Description:

Young at Art is recruiting volunteers for its annual Belfast Children's Festival. The volunteer team will play a vital part in helping families and schools as they attend events, and assisting artists backstage and in workshops.

when is it happening?
The Belfast Children's Festival runs from May-June 2007. Events take place on weekdays and weekends, in mornings, afternoons and some evenings throughout the festival.

what is the festival?
The festival began in 1998 and now attracts over 10,000 people each year to a programme of performances and workshops in all art forms throughout Belfast. Young at Art is a registered charity.

do I have to have any experience?
No arts experience is necessary but interest in children and young people is a must. Training in customer care, child protection and health & safety will be supplied.

do I have to be a young person to get involved?
For this year's festival all volunteers must be over 18 years. The festival is particularly keen to recruit older volunteers, parents, grandparents, etc.

To apply to be a volunteer, you must complete and return a volunteer form by APRIL 2007.
