NIACRO is currently recruiting volunteers for two of their projects working with children and young people
· Independent Visitor Scheme is focused on young people up to 18yrs who are living in care. The role of the volunteer is to work on a 1-2-1 basis with one of these young people in a befriending capacity. The idea is that the Independent Visitor is a consistent person among all the professionals in these young people's lives.
· Mentoring Project is working with young people 10 - 17yrs who have offended or are at risk of offending. The role of the volunteer is to befriend the young person and help them to identify and achieve goals which may have an impact on reducing their offending behaviour.
